South Alberta Light Horse Supported Cadet Corps

A long serving tradition in the Canadian Army is to have Regular and Reserve Units support the Cadet organization.

As "Alberta's Regiment", the South Alberta Light Horse supports a large number of corps from across the entire Province. The SALH provides support in many forms including providing:

  • instructors on specialty subjects
  • equipment support
  • training opportunities
  • and finally providing a source of education about the history and traditions of the Canadian Army

The Cadets systems are not tied directly to the Army and there is no requirement to serve in the Reserves if you have performed Cadet service. However, the SALH does have a large number of our personnel, both NCO an Officers, who have performed cadet service.
